What should I expect at our initial consultation meeting?


Our design team will meet with you at our showroom for an initial consultation. During this meeting, we'll review your plans, scope of work, start date, location, budget, and design style. You can bring inspiration photos and discuss any special requests. We'll show you samples and walk you through our design process. The initial consultation is complimentary, but design meetings require a signed retainer and payment. Our initial meeting focuses on project details, while design meetings come after payment.

Our projects are priced based on scope of work. We set a fixed rate per room for larger projects which is billed monthly. Smaller projects will be charged by the hour and billed bi-weekly. Fees will be discussed at initial meetings.

During the initial meeting, we'll discuss the fees and provide a design fee schedule outlined in the design contract.

Electing the right team is an important decision. We have a recommended vendor list of local builders and architects that we trust. Once we receive your signed design retainer, we will send this to you along with other trade recommendations that fit your work. 

How do I determine a furniture, window treatment and accessory budget? 

How do I determine a furniture, window treatment and accessory budget? 

We determine the estimated budget for finishing the home based on project size, timeline, and existing furniture. This is discussed in the initial meeting and in the contract. Please note that the budget is a rough estimate based on past projects and may increase based on client’s personal preferences and selections.

Items can be purchased through our showroom. PDG has hundreds of options that include furniture, fabric, wallpaper, lighting, rugs, and accessories. One crucial step in the design process is curating the selections of products available for purchase from our trusted brands.

How do I track my purchases and maintain my budget? 

How do I track my purchases and maintain my budget? 

PDG will provide access to our client portal system. Here clients can see what items were already purchased and what items may still need to be purchased. Storage options are available for an additional charge.
